Grandmom Hates His Beard So He Promises To Shave It For Her 100th Birthday

They say that sometimes your will to live to see something in your lifetime is so strong that, despite all odds, you live until you finally get to see that thing.
Whether you're holding out for a wedding you want to attend or to get to say goodbye to someone you love, it's good to have goals.
Scott Cleveland's grandmother knows all about goals — she was determined to see her grandson shave his beard, so she lived to 100! And probably longer, if you watch the video at the end you'll notice she's pretty spritely for a centenarian!

Meet Scott Cleveland.

Scott is a Gainesville, Georgia native — with a pretty strong Twitter game — who currently works as a copywriter in Los Angeles.

In 2010, Scott started growing a beard.

He was well ahead of his time.If you're not a fan of the beard trend, though, you definitely wouldn't have liked it back then — before it was even a thing people wanted to do.

And you wouldn't have been alone.

Scott's grandmom, Mary Cleveland, hated it. For years, she insisted that he shave it off.

So Scott made his grandmom a promise.

He promised he would shave the beard for her 100th birthday! The problem was that it was still years away...

But the joke was on him!

Grandmom just kept on having birthdays.

And a promise is a promise.

When that fateful day came, Scott lived up to his word.

And it was a very happy birthday indeed.

Scott posted this picture to Twitter with the caption, "Grandma never liked my beard. Two yrs ago I said if she made it to 100 I'd shave. Happy Birthday, Grandma. I love you."
